This lovely species occurs on damp soil in open areas around forests in northwestern North America, from Alberta to Alaska. Here’s what a typical habitat looks like:
This particular site is here, in Alaska. The soil is damp, with mosses, liverworts, and other small plants, and there is a bit of leaf litter. Bembidion grapii is common in the same habitat. In the center of the following picture, a small Asaphidion are scampering on the soil, and under litter.
